A note from the author:
Long ago my mother introduced me to sleep ponies. From the moment that little band trotted into my life, I had adventure to combat boredom, guards to ward off night noises, and friends whose faith in me never faltered. In turn, my ponies found the place they were meant to live.
We grew up together, and though I may not have always noticed, they were there when I studied art, there when I raised my three girls, and there when I cared for Whinny, our real-life pony. I know because they emerged periodically, unexpected and sometimes unrecognized, in a sculpture, a bedtime story, a painting, or a dream. Until one day it was time to pass on their story in the hope that others could be transported to that place where children and sleep ponies meet.
The beautiful illustrations in Sleep Ponies are appealing to any child's eyes. The full page pastel illustrations transport you into a dream like sequence. A great book for children's bedtime.
